Notify drivers: On the reverse side of the insurance card (which should be kept in the vehicle at all times) there is a procedure list of what to do if they are involved in an accident. The list is:

• Do not move vehicles until Police give permission.
• Get names and addresses of drivers and others involved.
• Get names and addresses of injured.
• Get license numbers of cars involved.
• Get names and addresses of witnesses.

With digital cameras and cell phone cameras all around, it would not be a bad idea to take a couple photos of the scene, just in case.

• Contact person for this claim -- name and daytime phone number
• Location of accident
• Name of Police Department notified
• Police report number
• General description of how the loss occurred
• Which of your vehicles was involved
• Your driver's information -- name, address and daytime phone number
• General description of your damage
• Probable amount of your damage -- get an estimate from a local body shop of your choice
• General description of other vehicle(s) involved
• Other driver's personal information
• Other driver's insurance information
• Description of their damage
• Personal information of any injured persons
• Personal information of any witnesses
